The Dubai Mall, the second-largest shopping mall in the world, is set to undergo a glamorous transformation.
Emirati real estate developer, Emaar Properties, announced a colossal expansion of the palatial fashion hub. The refurb will comprise Dhs1.5bn worth of renovations.
“The new Dubai Mall expansion is a great addition to one of the most visited sites in the world. We extend our gratitude to our esteemed guests and loyal customers, as well as our partners, retailers, and government authorities for their unwavering support,” said Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar Properties.

At present, the mammoth retail hub is already a sprawling complex covering an area of over 3.8 million sq ft. The development features nearly 200 restaurants and over 1200 retail stores.
It’s also home to exceptional amenities including an Olympic-sized ice rink, an aquarium and underwater zoo.
Additionally, there is a stunning Fashion Avenue with over 80 designer stores, and the renowned Dubai Fountains.
With 105 million visitors in 2023— a 19% increase from the previous year— The Dubai Mall became the most visited location on Earth.
The Dubai Mall has been subject to a number of renovations since its establishment in 2008. These include the Zabeel project in 2019, and the opening of China Town last year.
The revamped Dubai Mall will deliver 240 new luxury stores and a host of additional food and beverage outlets.
While there is currently no predicted date for completion, construction is set to begin imminently, and shoppers will soon get to indulge in an even more expansive retail shopping experience.
The expansion of the Mall will coincide with the growing property sector. The real estate market in the UAE is expected to undergo significant growth and dynamic changes in 2024.
