Cheval Collection appoints General Manager of Cheval Maison

The new appointment will become the General Manager of Cheval Maison – Expo City Dubai, which is set to open in March 2025.

Cheval Collection has appointed Christian Potvin as the General Manager of Cheval Maison – Expo City Dubai.

The property will comprise 151 rooms and apartments, ranging from studio units to luxurious two-bedroom royal suites.

Christian brings a wealth of experience in the UAE, at a time when Cheval Collection is expanding its presence in the region.

Previously, he has served as Cluster General Manager at Al Hamra Residence and Al Hamra Village in Ras al Khaimah, UAE.

Before that, he was Director of Rooms for Accor at the Mercure Barsha Heights and also held the role of Director of Rooms and Acting General Manager at Dukes Dubai on The Palm.

Christian has also held positions with InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and Emaar Group.

“It is an exciting time to join Cheval Collection, as it builds its footprint in the UAE and wider Middle East.

“The market is ripe for high-quality serviced apartments which cater to the growing number of domestic and international travellers in the region, both leisure and business.”

Christian Potvin, GM, Cheval Maison Expo City

Cheval Maison – Expo City will become Cheval Collection’s second location in Dubai, following the opening of Cheval Maison – The Palm Dubai earlier this year.

The Group’s inaugural property in Saudi Arabia, Cheval Ladun Living, located in Riyadh, is scheduled for completion in 2027.

“We are thrilled to have a GM of such calibre joining our outstanding team at Cheval Maison – Expo City.

“Christian’s knowledge of operations and pre-opening in the UAE will be invaluable as we work towards welcoming guests into this stunning property.”

John Philipson, COO, Cheval Collection

Cheval Collection continues its growth strategy through management contracts and is actively engaging with investors and developers worldwide.

If you’re considering a longer stay with us (more than just a short visit to the city), we offer favourable rates for longer lengths of stay, with flexible contracts to suit your requirements. Our apartments are perfectly suited for stays for several months or even years if you are relocating to Dubai.

Cheval Collection statement

Cheval has been operating luxury accommodation for over 40 years, with its roots in London but with ambitions to continue expanding to countries around the world.
