Emaar Properties has named long-serving finance executive Pawan Chindalia as the company’s new Group Head of Finance. The news follows as Hesham Heikal, the company’s previous Group Head of Finance, left the business effective on 20 May – according to a filing on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM).
In the disclosure, Emaar mentions Pawan who’s currently Head of Finance at Emaar Development PJSC, has been hired as the new Group Head of Finance.
The new appointment is set to take immediate effect, with Pawan also continuing in his current role at Emaar Development ‘until further notice’, the company said in its filing. The filing doesn’t mention how long he would continue to hold both finance roles simultaneously.
Pawan brings over 20 years of finance leadership experience, with broad expertise in spanning financial transformation, strategic growth, change management and performance turnaround.
He has been with Emaar for almost 15 years, gaining experience across a few of the developer’s core businesses, such as Emaar Development, Emaar Malls, Emaar Entertainment, Burj Khalifa and Community Management. Prior to his work at Emaar Properties, Pawan also worked at Damac Properties.
In addition, he has also been responsible for building finance teams and structures across multiple business units, with attention on governance, operational efficiency and long-term growth.
Emaar Properties more broadly has been behind some of the UAE’s best-known projects, including Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall and a large portfolio of residential, hospitality and retail developments.
