The rental market in Qatar has continued its upward momentum last year with contract volumes increasing across all quarters compared to 2024, as noted by Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Aqarat).
Real estate in Qatar is benefiting from continued buyer demand and increased activity, highlighting the market’s stability and viality.
In a post on its X platform, Aqarat shared an infographic which illustrated that the data for the rental contracts in 2025 outperformed 2024 figures in each quarter.
In the first quarter, contracts reached 31,295, contrasted to 27,095 in the same period of 2024. The second quarter saw 32,230 contracts, much higher than 21,208 recorded a year prior.
Contract growth continued into the third quarter, with contracts increasing to 34,855, up from 26,170 in 2024. This period was also the strongest annual growth rate, at roughly 12%, illustrating a notable surge in leasing activity.
The fourth quarter noted the highest volume overall, with 35,917 contracts signed – a strong increase of roughly 6.9% year-on-year and the largest quarterly figure on record.
The steady increase across all quarters indicates a broad-based growth in the rental sector, supported by both residential and commercial demand. The persistent gap between 2025 and 2024 figures underlines the market’s growth and improving performance.
The upward trajectory reinforces Qatar’s position as a popular destination for investment and living. The growth can be linked to increasing confidence in the country’s real estate regulatory framework, as well as ongoing efforts to improve transparency and efficiency in the sector.
The data also implies that while 2024 experienced some fluctuations – particularly a weaker second quarter – the market found momentum in 2025, keeping a steady pace throughout the year.
With rental contracts climbing to record levels and a consistent strength in demand, the outlook for Qatar’s real estate market remains positive. The ongoing regulatory improvements and sustained economic activity is likely to support further growth in the upcoming periods.
Qatar’s real estate sector continues to experience strong growth, with support from recent legislative reforms related to real estate brokerage, registration, ownership and usufruct rights, and investment-friendly policies.
