Sheikh Hamdan launches Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033

HH Sheikh Hamdan approved the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033, which aims to make it the world’s best city to live in.

Sheikh Hamdan set in motion The Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033. It aims to turn Dubai into the world’s best city to live in.

The programme was approved under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He is the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

It features 200 projects, initiatives and plans. Overall it covers ten key pillars that are essential to wellbeing.

“Culture and entertainment, the natural environment, the urban environment, mobility, society and family, the economic environment, employment and work conditions, education, safety and security, and health.

“The strategy encompasses ten key pillars, all dedicated to fostering the wellbeing of individuals, society, and the city. Our objective is to establish Dubai as one of the world’s best cities in terms of wellbeing, offer every resident a healthy, active, and enjoyable lifestyle, build a society that takes pride in its identity and cultural diversity, and offer the highest quality of leisure and entertainment. Dubai’s name will become synonymous with fine living worldwide.”

One of the key objectives is a 300% increase in the length of beach cycling tracks across Dubai. More than 115 km of pedestrian and cycling tracks will be constructed, alongside planting of over 3,000 trees.

Also, the plan includes a 60% extension of night swimming beaches and new beach areas specifically for women.

Some of the other projects include the development of wellbeing districts. Also the 20-minute city concept, parks and sports and entertainment facilities.

Aligned with the larger vision outlined in the Dubai 2040 Urban Plan, the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033 is made to propel Dubai towards global growth. The aim is to be the world leader in terms of wellbeing, innovation and economic strength.

It comes as Dubai forecast the strongest residential growth in 2024. Savills found that Dubai is among the top global cities predicted to see the strongest growth in prime residential property this year.

In terms of yields, Dubai stands out as a high yielding city by world city standards, with returns of 4.8%. Across all world cities, prime gross yields stood at 3.1% as global rental markets recorded stronger growth than the sales markets.
